Lovell Stone Group carries out the quarrying and processing of their historic blue, grey and white Lias Building Stone at their quarry situated at Bowden’s Lane in Langport, Somerset.

We have substantial reserves of white, grey and blue Lias stone; all of which are traditionally used as building and walling stones in the West Country and South Wales. This Jurassic/Triassic Limestone has excellent strength and durability and has been used as a building and flooring material for over a thousand years.

Our Somerset Lias quarry has the capacity to produce over 15,000 sq m of Lias building stone per year, using modern equipment that ensures a consistently high-quality product.
