The first six months of Hartham Park have gone by in a bit of a blur. As you may know, we took over the lease on 1st February and had spent 18 months putting lots of plans, investment and recruitment in place to make sure we were operational as soon as possible.
So, once we finally had the keys, it was all systems go to make it safe, useable and comfy for our great team there ready for when we could begin to extract Bath stone.
With the Fantini saw in place and a group of guys who lead their field, we saw stone at the surface pretty quickly and ever since then it’s been all systems go…..supplying block stone and rubble walling to customers far and wide.
We have welcomed all our staff to Hartham Park so they could see our newest operation first hand and a number of visitors who have been fascinated by what we do and how we do it! With lots of tours planned for later this year and into 2017, it will be great to share the Hartham Park experience with as many people as possible who will specify and use this amazing bath stone.
The team temporarily expanded to include for the summer only, a student from Camborne School of Mining and we are constantly looking at how to improve the quarry, investing in equipment and opening up parts of the mine that have not been quarried for many, many years.
So we I look back at the excitement of opening Hartham Park I’m still filled with excitement looking forward to the next 6 months, six years and beyond. As a company that’s passionate about stone, Hartham Park is no exception and to quarry stone that is respected and admired world-wide certainly makes us proud.
